7. Writing a report: My experience in the Centro de Investigación Social (CIS)

 

Introduction:

The objective of this report is to present my work experience at the Center for Social Research of the San Andrés Mayor University in La Paz, Bolivia.

My work experience

During the six weeks I worked at the La Paz Center for Social Research (CIS), I had the opportunity to investigate social conflicts in the city of El Alto and be a research advisor on a project.

a location

The Social Research Center (CIS) is located in the Sopocachi neighborhood of La Paz and the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés is located in the center of the city, both places can be reached by cable car from the city which is an economical option and confortable.

b) Hours of work

During my stay the hours were from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. at 5 p.m., this allowed me to get to know the city in my free hours and it was a very pleasant job, however these hours can sometimes vary depending on the amount of work.

c) Dress code

The dress code of the place was pretty relaxed, you didn't have to wear formal clothes, to be honest they never warned me of this fear and they didn't care much how you dressed.

d) Colleagues

I had the opportunity to work with very kind and loving colleagues, in the place there was a very healthy and constructive working environment, which allowed my stay there to be very good.

General comments

My experience at the Social Research Center (CIS) of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés was very pleasant because I learned many things about social research, recognition conflicts, economic growth and impact on communities, among others, which I can apply to reality. Chilean.

Finally, I believe that the Social Research Center (CIS) is a tremendous option to put knowledge into practice and deepen it, especially for people who are interested in issues of conflict and social cohesion and can become an enriching experience.
